Shopping for Sleepaway Camp!

I welcome any  occasion to acquire small things, adorable products,  things I need to sneak in the house passed my husband, is my favorite type of research + shopping (or just accumulating vast online baskets which I don’t end up purchasing).  School supplies, birthday party décor, craft supplies, small home accents, are some of my favorite things to spend hours upon hours going through sites, exploring what is out there. I have a constant mental tug-of war, with practicing minimalism, that these type of shopping oppurtunities, always win.

6 weeks away from sending both boys off to sleepaway camp, and I have been sucked in to the endless vortex of camp products, bunk junk, games, bunk décor, activities, package, and visiting day worthy products out there.

Every parent gets the usual packing list, from camp, sent to them. The duffel bags, flashlights, shower caddy, etc. checklist. The list of essentials is hardly stimulating, and like most things I don’t find exciting, I wait until the last minute, ordering everything just in time to pack it up.

The North East is the capital of sleepaway camp shopping. The personalized everything you could imagine can be found. Luckily – my dear friend and Long Islander, owner of Fleektique, has made everything accessible to us in Miami.  If she doesn’t have it, she can find it, and all can be ordered through her Instagram.

With her guidance on what that Tri-state area is shopping for, it leaves time for research for what really thrills me. That is the adorable cr*p out there for kids. The fun extras, either to decorate their area in their bunk, play with during rest hour, use to write home, wear, beautify, etc.

Slime based face masks, kawaii tarot cards, unicorn bath sponges and shower caps, 90s colored caboodles, sticker album books, and bear shaped fans. The discovery that the vintage, Maybelline, rollerball kissing potion is back, had me feeling sad I don’t have a daughter to shop all this girly, awesome, for (as usual). The camp finds for boys are very cool too!  Particularly loving the new lacrosse launchers, NFL branded storage, NBA towels, squishy indoor football, mesh balls, cards and retro games.

I have hoarded all the product amazingness on my Pinterest board, “Shop / Sleep away camp”, split into sections for boys and girls.
